What are the psycho factors of ED?

Child sexual abuse is possibly one of the factors which affect men in performing well in sexual activities. In case a boy is sexually abused by his mother or any other women it affects him mentally. Apart from sexual abuse, physical and emotional abuse in childhood days can cause this illness. Sexual abuse can make a man emotionally vulnerable and as he grows without any self confidence he may not be function normally with his partner later.

The emotional turmoil that a boy faced during his early years may lead him to distrust the women and his mind will not perceive a woman good enough for having harmonious sexual relationship. Gradually he may lose interest in sex and his self confidence also goes down.

Lack of trust

Lack of trust and lack of intimacy with the partner may cause erectile dysfunction. Suppose a man has lost interest in his spouse or feels that she is betraying him then he may not have sexual drive and this may cause erectile dysfunction.
Sometimes the man may require more stimulation for turning him on and if the partner is not able to provide that by touch and caresses he may not get aroused sexually.

The boy who grows up with presupposed ideas and concepts about sex will not have normal erection at all unless he is treated well by a psychotherapist.

Stressful events

Normally certain stressful events which had caused erectile dysfunction will pass away after some days or weeks. For instance the death of his mother or father may be shocking for a man. It depends on the individual as to how far he has related certain incidents in his mind. Certain problems will be perceived as huge issues and the men may become guilty of that act unknowingly. These types of psychological stresses will have to be treated with counseling techniques. For example, if a man thinks that his mother died only because of his carelessness and nothing else then he may be affected psychologically due to her death.

Guilty feeling

Similarly when a man has sex with his friend’s wife or any other lady other than his wife, he may feel guilty. Though he may be sexually aroused his inner mind will prevent him from enjoying sex since he is preoccupied with the thoughts of guiltiness.
